The Canberra Rape Crisis Centre was originally established in 1976 as a feminist collective comprising all permanent staff and members. The CRCC works within a political, human rights and feminist framework, to assist people affected by sexual violence.
In 1996 the Canberra Rape Crisis Centre amalgamated Annadora, which was previously the Incest Centre, bringing the focus of child sexual assault to the CRCC. In the same year the Service Assisting Male Survivors of Sexual Assault (SAMSSA) and Nguru (Service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members) also became a part of the Canberra Rape Crisis Centre.
This has meant that the CRCC has evolved over many years to reflect in its service provision, many different members of the Canberra community, as well as to provide services to people who have experienced many different forms of sexual violence in both adulthood and childhood.

The Canberra Rape Crisis Centre (CRCC) is a non-government, feminist organisation working collaboratively within service provision systems in the ACT and surrounding areas to provide services and programs to eliminate sexual violence against women, young people, children , and men.
We provide a crisis counselling line, Indigenous community support, counselling to victims and their families, and community education programs.
CRCC is committed to excellence in service provision, access and equity, diversity and social justice.
